About
One firm, from the groundworks to the furniture
Jimfield Engineering was established in 2016 so a client could appoint one organisation for the whole job — not a chain of trades that each walk away from the next stage.
Groundworks, design, construction and interior finishing sit under one contract and one team. The programme, the quality and the handover stay with the same people from the first site visit to the last piece of furniture.
How we work
Four commitments
These are the principles we hold on every site, in parallel — not a sequence to work through.
Safety first, always
Every site is planned and run so people go home unhurt. Safety is a condition of the work, not a notice on the hoarding.
Test before you cover
We inspect and test work before it is closed in. Hidden defects stay our problem to find, not the client’s to discover later.
Honest programmes
Dates we give are dates we can keep. If the programme has to move, we say so early — not on the week of handover.
Built for the long run
Materials, details and workmanship are chosen for how the building will perform years after we leave the site.

Jim Otto Wagner
CEO
Most projects don't fail in the middle. They fail at the handover, when one trade walks off and the next one inherits a problem nobody owns.
I started Jimfield in 2016 after years of working in construction, and after watching the same thing go wrong more times than I can count.
The road contractor finishes and leaves. The building contractor arrives, finds the levels are wrong, and the argument starts. By the time the interior fit-out begins, the programme has slipped twice and nobody is quite sure who is responsible.
We built this practice to remove those seams. When the same team surveys the ground, prices the work, builds the structure and finishes the interior, there is nobody to hand the problem to. That concentrates the mind.
It also means we tell clients things they would rather not hear, early. A programme that cannot be met is worth more to you as a conversation in week one than as a delay in month six.
If you have a road, a building, a warehouse or a room that needs delivering, call me or write. You will get an engineer, not a sales team.
Work with a team that owns the whole job.
